Jr SQL DEVELOPER - JOB DESCRIPTION


We are seeking to hire an on-site, part-time or full-time, salaried Microsoft SQL Server database developer. Daily responsibilities include SSRS report creation and maintenance, front end application development, testing, and debugging issues. There is short and long term project work, solution design, existing product support and new technology implementation. The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in databases, report writing, and T-SQL coding, paired with a strong desire to learn while being flexible to adjust with changing priorities. Efficient in researching new software and tools to satisfy technical requirements. Capable of working under minimum supervision and supporting multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain SQL Server 2016 objects
  • Create and maintain database structures
  • Create and maintain custom SSRS reports
  • Develop front-end application to display traffic light reports
  • Work with end users in providing data referenced by SSRS reports
  • Provide production level support concurrently with developing in test environments
  • Work directly with end users to troubleshoot existing issues and develop new solutions
  • Submit activity and results reports consistently
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Employ creative strategies to uncommon tasks


Requirements:

  • 1-3 years experience with SQL Server database development
  • Experience with T-SQL, ASP.net, and Visual Studio
  • Preferred CSS, JavaScript and XML programming skills
  • Knowledgeable of version control best practices
  • Daily written and verbal interaction with project manager and/or end users
  • Ability to deliver and perform under pressure and on time
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments/projects concurrently
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
  • Creative thinking; Enjoyment of problem solving
  • Ability to pass a background check


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Information Science, Computer Science, MIS or related fields
  • Proficient in all the phases of SDLC
  • Experience with updating existing software and developing new systems to meet business requirements
  • Must have at least 21 semester hours combined in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, or computer programming, or mathematics
